The Rheostat is an industrial equipment that produces a variation in the value of resistance to the passage of electrical intensity between its phase terminals, in such a way that, when connected to a high-power industrial electric motor, it assists in its starting safely and smoothly, as it limits excess current and increases the rotational torque of the motor if it is connected to the rotor.
In Arecheta rheostats, the main body is made of sheet steel protected internally and externally with anti-alkaline coatings and paints. Its benches made of robust metal profiles do not require anchoring and have adequate accommodation for grounding connections. The careful design of the fixed and mobile electrodes allows the expansion of the contact surface with the electrolyte, cooled with the permanent renewal of the liquid column, difference in densities and minimizing resistance at the end of the start.
